Closure of UTP

IMPORTANT: H1N1 NOTICE!

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – CLOSURE OF UNIVERSITI TEKNOLOGI PETRONAS DUE TO INFLUENZA-LIKE DECEASE (31st July 2009 – 6th August 2009)

In relation to the above, students are to inform respective parents and guardians on the above measure taken by the university to curb the spread of influenza-like decease in UTP. Please share with parents/guardians on the advisory notice and guideline.

Dear all,

I wish to inform all of you, in view of the Influenza-like Illness (ILI) among our students, we have decided to close the university beginning 3.00pm today, Friday, 31 July 2009 until 3.00pm, Thursday, 6 August 2009. All students (UG & PG) without symptoms of ILI are to leave the campus starting 3.00pm onwards and latest by at 12.00 noon, Saturday, 1 August 2009.

All academic activities will resume on Monday, 10 August 2009.

International students and students from Sabah and Sarawak can remain in campus. However, please note that you are not allowed to leave the campus during the above campus closure period.

Exit Instruction:

Students are encouraged to return home either by using public transport, own transportation or with parents/guardian. Please refer the ‘Home Assessment Tool’ provided by the Health Ministry as a guide to ensure your protection against H1N1. You can collect this at the Main Guard House.

Students with the ILI symptoms must undergo screening at the UTP Health Centre before returning home. If you are required to be quarantined you may only return home accompanied by parents/guardian. You must take all necessary precautions including wearing a face mask at all times. Please refer to the ‘Home Assessment Tool’ provided by the Health Ministry as guide for patient at home quarantine.

The university will provide buses to Medan Gopeng Bus Station starting 3.00pm today.

Please leave all your room keys with Residential College Office for disinfection purposes. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action/s.

Home Quarantine

While at home, students with ILI symptoms are advised to stay at home and avoid contact with public.

If you have ILI symptom, you are advised to seek medical assistance from the nearest government clinics/hospitals immediately.

You can return to the campus once you have fully recovered.

Upon Returning

Upon returning to the campus, students must undergo mandatory H1N1 screening at the Main Hall (8.00am – 5.00pm) prior to registering at the residential colleges.

Students who develop ILI symptoms upon returning to campus must report to the UTP Health Centre immediately.

Disciplinary action can be taken to students who do not comply with the required screening process.

Thus, I hope everyone can take all the precautions advised. Hopefully with this action taken can awake us about the severe effect of this disease. For Muslim, we should aware this as a sign to us for our wickedness as said in the sermon this latest Jumaat Prayer. So, before all of us be affected of this illness, lets us pray for us and others. Majlis Tilawah Al-Quran Peringkat Kebangsaan

Alhamdulillah. Akhirnya aku berkesempatan untuk update blog aku yang dah lama tak bertulisan baru. Ini pun baru je sampai bilik. Tadi pergi majlis penutup Tilawah Al-Quran Peringkat Kebangsaan di Chancellor Hall(CH). Pertama kali aku pergi majlis sebesar ni. Biasa CH tak ada la penuh sampai macam ni. Tak tahu la kalau ada majlis-majlis lain yang lebih besar daripada kat UTP ni. Tapi setakat aku masuk UTP ni memang yang ni je la aku pernah pergi.

14-18 Julai 2009. 5 hari pertandingan dijalankan. Dan aku sempat pergi 4 hari je. 1 hari terpaksa buat kerja. Seronok juga tengok majlis ni secara live. At least boleh dapat pengalaman baru. Tengok bodyguard2 orang2 besar. Kelakar betul. Kalau tengok betul2 kat diorang ni, mesti akan perasan bodyguard2 ni akan betul2 alert dengan semua orang. Ye la, mana taknye kalau orang tu public figure dan lagi2 kalau orang dah tak suka. Tu la, lain kali jangan rampas kuasa senang2 je. Nanti bayang2 sendiri pun takut!


Kembali ke majlis tadi. Johan lelaki adalah dari Sarawak dan Johan perempuan adalah dari peserta tahun lepas berasal dari Perak. Aku sebenarnya tak faham macam mana penentuan johan. Tapi yang aku tahu macam ni je la. Kebanyakkan peserta pun aku lihat dah pernah masuk Akademi Quran(AQ). Ada la beberapa orang aku kenal sebab pernah tengok rancangan tu dulu. Majlis penyampaian hadiah aku tak tengok. Aku tak dapat dalam CH pun tadi. Duduk kat luar je tengok kat skrin yang disediakan.

Kat luar pun ramai je orang. Hampir penuh kawasan Chancellor Complex tu. Booth2 kat situ pun aku tengok penuh dengan orang je. Sampai tak menang tangan penjual2 kat situ. Rugi la department aku tak menjual malam ni. Kalau la jual mesti dapat banyak untung. Oh ye, tak ingat nak cerita tadi. Sebenarnya tadi pun aku sempat kena buat kerja Convo. Sampai2 je terus Zahid(Bendahari 2 Convo) suruh aku edarkan flyers dan pamphlets untuk promote event Games & Competition Department. Nasib baik la aku kena tak banyak. Boleh la habiskan cepat. Lepas tu terus pergi tempat lain.

Semoga sepanjang majlis tu ramai orang dapat manfaatnya. Kalau tengok budget yang digunakan untuk majlis macam tu mesti agak tinggi. Moga2 yang sanggup sembahyang isyak lambat semata-mata nak dapat tempat duduk dalam CH tu bertambah keimanan mereka lepas dengar alunan al-Quran tu. Tak lupa juga kepada diri aku sendiri dan orang2 lain yang turut serta mendengar. Manfaatnya pula kalau dapat disampaikan kepada orang lain lagi la bagus. Habis kurang bertambah maju la Islam kat Malaysia ni. Kan ni event Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia(JAKIM). Kat situ pun ada perkataan MAJU. Kalau tak maju juga tak tahu la nak kata apa lagi. Sia-sia la tax payers bayar cukai. Habiskan duit rakyat je la jawabnya.
